National Cycle Route 5

Discover the amazing traffic-free sea front cycle Route 5. Cycling couldn’t be easier when you visit North Wales.  This picturesque part of the National Cycle Network route connects Prestatyn to Abergele and is maintained by Sustrans. The full NCN 5 Route connects Reading to North Wales and takes in historical towns as well as the beautiful countryside and North Wales coast.

Route 5 is well signposted and the 9.9 mile stretch takes about 48 minutes, although you might be tempted to stop and take in the view as you go along. This is a family friendly cycling route and if you didn’t pack your bikes, you can rent some at the social enterprise, The Bike Hub in Rhyl for either half day or full day. The Cycle Route is easily accessible from The Beaches Hotel and Spa.
